Crown of the Russian Empire after July 16, 1918.
To the centenary of the Memory of the Sainted Royal Passion-Bearers. The crown is virtually woven from seven images of the same crown of thorns of different sizes according to the number of members of the Imperial family killed in the house of Ipatiev. It is known that the «Crown» of Christ should have been like a hat. This is consistent with the traces on the Shroud of Turin. Wounds from thorns are visible throughout the upper part of the head, not just in the form of a rim. Roman soldiers, outraged Christ, beat Him on the head with sticks, so that the thorns would crash into the brow and cause Him more suffering. The priest's miter reminds us of that crown of thorns.
